The chateau de Rully

This medieval fortress built onto a 12th century dungeon keeps includes interesting examples of military architecture : watchman's walk, battlements, arrow slits... the main house in Renaissance. The vaulted kitchen in the keep boasts a colossal mantelpiece and large collection of copper cooking pots. The stone roof of the 18th century stables is the largest in Burgundy. The chateau still owned by the original family, is situated in the heart of a wineyard.

Chagny (4km) : An appealing, multi-faced town. Strolling around its streets, you can explore its rich and varied cultural heritage - the church of saint Martin, the apothecary, a visit to the Copiaux theater during one of its numerous summer events. Its port, which cathers for receational boating, makes a particularly pleasant stopping place with the possibility of hiring boats.
Chalon-Sur-Saône (12km) :A dynamic and animated town, Chalon-Sur-Saône is the photographers's town. You can visit the Niepce museum (photography), saint Vincent Cathedral and its old quarter, the chapel and pharmacy of the hospital, the Denon Museum, the Côte Chalonnaise Wine's House on the quays of the Saône. Golf and rose garden.
Beaune (15km) : The capital of Burgundy wines has coutless riches : the Mediaeval Hospital (Hôtel Dieu) founded in 1441 by Nicolas Rolin, the chancellor of Burgundy, a masterpiece of burgundian-Flemish art with its multicoloured bled roofs; triptych of the Last Judgement. The wine museum in the former mansion of the Dukes of Burgundy; Notre Dame collegiate church. Many cellars open to visit and tasting. On the third Sunday in November, the wine Auction Sale of the Hospices de Beaune attracts buyers and bidders from all over the world.

The "Route Touristique des Grands Vins"
This itinerary naturally extends the Route des Grands Crus to the south. It snakes from Santenay to Saint-Gengoux-Le-National through the famous vineyards of the Maranges, the neighbouring Couchois and the Côte Chalonnaise. Not far from the winegrowing area, the town of Chalon-sur-Saône, cradle of photography, awaits for your visit : the Musée Nicéphore Niepce dedicated to the inventor of this art, the Hôtel-Dieu and the Cathédrale Saint-Vincent.
The Châteaux of southern Bourgundy
17 châteaux in southern Burgundy have joined forces to summon visitors on a journey from the Morvan to the Bresse, passing through the Mâconnais, the Brionnais and the Côte Chalonnaise : Berzé le Châtel, Brancion, Brandon, Cormatin, Couches, Demigny, Digoine, Drée, Germolles, La Ferté, Milly-Lamartine, Pierreclos, Pierre-de-Bresse, Rully, Saint-Aubin, Saint-Point, Sully.
Country paths for all in southern Burgundy
A safe track, far from traffic, for cyclists, wheelchair users, rollerbladers and, of course, walkers - woudn't that be ideal for one's hollidays ? From Givry to Cluny(41km), from Saint-Léger-sur Dheune to Chalon-sur-Saône (31km), and more .... the "Voie Verte" winds its way through wineyards, pastures and lovely little villages. In addition to this route that is restricted to no-motorized traffic, there are a number of cycle paths (roads with only very light traffic) for exploring the countryside even further, bringin the total length of the network to 180 km.
